The Methodist Church at Sanginacue was built by a group from the Sylvan Hills, Alabama, Methodist Church.  The church is pastored by Florencio Mareco, and his wife Beba.  They have 5 beautiful children and are all very pleased to have the well and the sanitation upgrades to the parsonage.  As noted above, this project was sponsored by the Seekers Sunday School Class at Oak Grove UMC in Atlanta, Georgia.

Ed showing the guys how to use the new hydraulics

This was the first well on which we got to use our new hydraulic upgrade package - what a treat!!  The package was bought last year but we had to wait months for it to arrive by ship, then to clear customs.  By the time we finally took possession of it last year we were leaving for the States, so we had to wait until this year to drill.  We spent the first couple of days getting everything set up and then getting the hydraulics mounted.  We hope to have a page soon that shows the details of the hydraulic upgrade.

The 4 drillers - Pastor Mareco, Boni, Genaro and Ed by the completed well head.

This outhouse was the only bathroom for the Pastor's family - and the church.

As always, sanitary facilities make up a big part of our projects.  Since electric power is available at the church, we installed an electric submersible pump which fills an elevated tank.  This allows the bathrooms at the parsonage, and another for the church, to have "modern bathrooms", i.e. flush toilets, showers and sinks with running water.  Imagine the difference this makes in their everyday life!

The new "brick outhouse", with a flush toilet, shower and sink out front - still needs doors and paint

Antonio, the Preacher's grandson, really likes the public spigot out in front of the church!

It was a great project and will make a big difference to the Pastor's family, the congregation and the community.
